WELCOME

Dear Fellow Leicester League Members

Welcome back to Netball, hope you have all had a restful summer.

Well it was touch and go over the summer whether or not we would have Soar Valley as a venue to play at this season, we had a couple of sweaty weeks (not due to the weather mind!) waiting for the schedule from the contractors who are building the new school.  It looked like we would lose the courts until January 2008; however, the contractors have now decided to start the build on our two covered courts and resurfacing of the existing five courts till July 2008.  Let’s hope that they don’t change their mind!

We should all expect some disruptions for this season due to the building of the new school, it may be that we might not be given enough notification of this to let you all know, so please keep your eyes on the website for developments.  However, I would stress to all players/umpires to arrive at the courts a little earlier this season just in case!!

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome some new and some old clubs into the senior league, they are:-

Hawks 2, Lutterworth, Melton Silver, Pink Panthers and Psychos.

The youth league has also gained a few extra teams, they are:-

Melton Gems, Melton Rubies and Grasshopper Youth 3.

As with the fortunate event of gaining teams we have also lost a few teams, so we have had to adjust the divisions accordingly.

We have also introduced a Youth Club Competition to run alongside the youth league, this is based on the same format as the senior competition, in which all teams are involved for the first two rounds.  The winner of the 1^st round will be entered into the cup competition and the 2^nd placed teams will be entered into the plate competition.
